Kika writes about her experience during our recent project which took place in Slovakia:

Participants of 7 countries gathered around „Slovak sea“, in a small village of Kaluža. We stayed together for a week, exchanging knowledge about ecology and entrepreneurship. I never thought I would be this much into such topic. And it surprised me the most.

Everybody coming to this youth exchange had their own expectations about this particular project. It was called „Eco-preneurs“ and its name described the topic just amazingly. Around 30 people with different backgrounds and knowledge met under one roof to uncover local and worldwide problems. The first day was a key to get to know each other the best. Funny ice-breaking games connected with name-learning created deeper understanding and connection with the others. During next days we visited a local eco-preneurship example – a winery, connected with wine tasting. If it wasn’t that hot, maybe we wouldn’t be so eager to get to the cellar and finally try the wine. 🙂

The workshops were complimenting the time management very well, making the whole program great. For example we had an activity where we had to create some upcycled products out of a trash we already had. That was very interesting, to see the creativity of all of the groups. We were also discussing some big contemporary problems, like air and water pollution, melting ice caps, food waste, etc. and were trying to find solutions.

Preparing what we learned and teach others about it was a crucial point of our stay, because on sixth day we visited local high school. We had only 90 minutes to teach the kids about Erasmus+, the topic, and a practical example of our time spent together so far. It wasn’t enough, but we managed to do it in a funny and educational way. The biggest surprise was how close-tight the group was from the very beginning. We all got along, no one was left out. We discussed, made comments to others’ presentations and even found new friends.

Everybody has been always included, the group dynamics was just amazing. I am really glad I could be a part of it. Thank you. 💚
